Et je n'ai pas grand chose à en dire sinon que cet album est tout aussi agréable que l'était celui de son groupe. Dans la plus pure tradition américaine du singer-songwriter de talent. A une marge près : ceci est enregistré en bricolage chez soi (mais sans que cela s'entende nullement, ça sonne juste comme un singer-songwriter backé par un groupe). Ca pourrait être du Tom Petty avec une petite dimension plus psyché...
BBC : Recorded alone on rudimentary home-recording equipment, and aided by primitive FX and reverb-drenched vocals, Vile’s tunes channelled such masters of rock songcraft as Neil Young and Bob Dylan, though Vile’s idiosyncratic production approach – with a heavy lo-fi aesthetic, revelling in distortion and analogue crackle – made the sound his own.
